Supporting local jobs, communities and families

McHugh’s Off-Licences, Kilbarrack & Artane, Dublin 5

My father opened the first outlet of our family business in Artane over 50 years ago in 1962. In 1995 we opened our two independent specialist off-licences. We have been serving the local communities in our corner of Dublin's northside for 19 years now. We have championed the growth of craft beers and speciality wines & spirits during that time. We have supported many local sports clubs and voluntary organisations. We currently employ 12 local people but there is also a large community out there of men and women that would have worked with us over the years and have now gone on to forge great careers for themselves. We genuinely feel that we are part of the fabric of our community. Over the last few years, pressure from duty increases and irresponsible discounting of alcohol by supermarkets has put our business under a lot of pressure. We are hopeful that the government will support us so that we can continue to function as part of our community.
