McIntyres Pub, Shannon Harbour, Offaly – A village Pub
McIntyre's Pub is centrally located in a village in the middle of Ireland and beside where the Grand Canal, which begins in Dublin, meets the biggest river in Ireland, the Shannon. We bought it in the boom times of 2005 and became determined to bring back the locals and make it a warm and inviting atmospheric pub. We have music some weekends and now see an opening for serving food in the evening during the busy summer months. Once again it is the locals, who are our repeat business and and also visitors, who now can enjoy a pint or a glass of wine over a pizza, curry or a simple basket of chips.
We think it is important to be involved in the local community and are happy to support them in local festivals and ideas to improve the now beautiful village.
I had the opportunity of appearing on TV3's Ireland AM recently talking as a rural publican positively and have to say the good wishes from our customers was beyond expectations and we now have poeple who are just going for a drive or day trips calling because they remember Shannon Harbour being on the TV.
We will continue to listen to our customers and make the pub experience a good one!
